Stars, Stars and More Stars 7/21

Acadia National Park and our journey to Sand Beach on 7/21. Under a crystal-clear sky around 10:30 p.m., we were treated to a stargazer’s delight. Never before had we seen so many stars glistening at once—like a painter’s brush had dotted and splattered thousands of luminous specks across a midnight canvas. The sheer brilliance of the night sky was humbling and magical.

For Dan, the highlight of the trip was to witness the Milky Way. After reading up on the best viewing times—from June through September—and with a bit of luck for the right phase of the moon during our visit to Maine, the galaxy delivered a performance worthy of an Academy Award. Between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., with midnight offering the most opportune view, the sky unveiled its celestial masterpiece.

We were grateful to share this moment in time, covered in a blanket of starlight and the gentle movement of water from the beach. Dan succeeded in capturing his photos and with it, a memory to cherish forever.

The galaxy spread all the way across the sky to the north.
