Bar Island Land Bridge

An interesting must do if in Bar Harbor, catch the right time and you have an opportunity to walk the land bridge. With only a short 3 hour window of time make sure you watch your time. 1.5 hours before and after low tide gets you the chance to walk on the gravel, see what is settled from shells, interesting stones, etc.

You’ll see the warning sign before venturing across and a number for a water taxi rescue!

We returned on another walk when what we had experienced during our great morning walk was completely consumed with water. Pretty amazing… we were able to catch a nice sunset, too.
