(Blog note: life got in the way, and we are now attempting to complete the entries for the cruise.)
We left Newark shortly after April 28 at 8:30pm EDT, and arrived in Venice the next day at approximately 1:00 pm CEST (Central European Summer Time). Since we were unable to sleep on the plane, so far we have been up for 24 hours.

But looking no worse for wear… with sunglasses on.

A Venice taxi stand. The only way to get around in Venice is to walk, water taxi, or gondola.

Exiting the airport we are taking a water taxi to the Pre- extension stay at the JW Marriott Venice Resort and Spa. “Our Own Private Island”
We shared the boat with other Viking passengers arriving on the same flight.

After a well needed nap we ventured around the hotel and had dinner in the hotel’s casual dining restaurant, eager to try the pizza we ordered dinner. Not bad for hotel pizza. By the time we got to bed, we had been up for 36 hours!

Dan’s wake up cappuccino the next morning. Buongiorno, Harry!
Nice! Good times!
